Opening for a postdoctoral research associate in the Molecular and Cellular Modeling group at EML Research in Heidelberg, Germany
We are seeking a highly motivated person to join the Molecular and Cellular Modeling group at EML Research as a postdoctoral research associate as soon as possible. The research will be done in the EU-supported PROSURF project and is aimed at the development of a computational toolbox for protein-surface docking. The PROSURF project started in September 2006 and is expected to have a duration of three years. The project involves six research groups with complementary experimental and computational expertise in Germany, Italy and Israel. Further information is available at http://www.s3.infm.it/prosurf/.
EML Research gGmbH is a private non-profit research laboratory dedicated to basic and applied research in IT, with a strong emphasis on computational biology. The Molecular and Cellular Modeling group is an interdisciplinary research group that works on the development and application of computer-aided methods to predict and simulate biomolecular interactions. The focus is on proteins and the computational approaches are mostly based on the three-dimensional structures of macromolecules. Techniques cover a wide spectrum from interactive, web-based visualization tools to molecular and Brownian dynamics simulations (see http://www.eml-research.de; http://projects.villa-bosch.de/mcm). Candidates should possess a Ph.D. or equivalent qualification. Candidates should preferably have experience in molecular modeling and simulation, possess excellent programming skills, and have a strong interest in interdisciplinary research.
