Directions

SIGdial '04 will be held at the MIT Faculty Club in the Sloan Building, Building E52 at the MIT Campus. Note that buildings at MIT have names and numbers (such as E52) and are known by both. The Sloan Building is located on Wadsworth St at the corner with Memorial Drive about 4 minutes walk from the Kendall Square stop on the Red Line of the subway system call the MBTA (or more often, "the T"). As parking is extremely limited around MIT and parking garages charge very high prices to park for a day, we recommend that you use the T to get to SIGdial '04. You can find the location of SIGdial '04 on the MIT Campus map.

When you exit the T station, you must walk down Main Street, towards the Charles River. Wadsworth St is on the right where Main and Broadway Streets meet. (We recommend that you ask someone on the street to help you find Wadsworth St if you cannot get your location after leaving the subway station.) The Sloan Building is in the second block of Wadsworth Street. There will be signs in the building to direct you to the workshop site.

Registration

Registration for SIGdial '04 is available on the HLT/NAACL '04 website. You are required to register for SIGdial and pay either the Main Conference Fee or the Tutorials/Workshops Only Fee. HLT/NAACL '04 takes place immediately after SIGdial '04 in Boston/MA.

Information for Presenters

Long presentations are 20 minutes plus 8 minutes discussion (and 2 minutes speaker change). Short presentations are 8 minutes plus 1 minute discussion and 1 minute speaker change. Short presentations should be used as advertisement for the poster/demo session where presenters may discuss their work in detail.

We provide an LCD projector for long and short presentations (not for the poster/demo session). If you need an overhead projector please contact us as soon as possible.

For a poster or demo presentation, feel free to bring information on a poster with a max. size of 46.8 (width) x 33.1 (height) inch (i.e. A0 or 118.8 x 84.1 cm). In case you are not able to produce such a poster you can also bring 8.5 x 11 inch (i.e. A4 or 21.0 x 29.7 cm) sheets of paper to attach to the poster board (maximum number of sheets is 12). You can use these to talk about the ideas, or to display whatever is needed in connection with your demo. There will be tables for each presenter, and outlets to plug in computers, but any computers/laptops, speakers, or other equipment that you need, you must supply yourself. We will supply pins and tape to fasten the posters to the board.

Demos and poster sessions will take place during a buffet dinner. In order to allow yourself time to eat and to see other demos and posters, you can leave times posted for when you will be at your presentation site.
