The DigiCoach is a small device that measures the acceleration patterns of athlete swimmers during their swim. Thus allowing us to analyse the swimmers technique and improve the overall performance in an easy and fast way.
During the measurements the DigiCoach is attached with a belt near the swimmers lumbar vertebral spine. The device measures and stores autonomosly accelerations and movements at this point. For technique analysis video information is absolute necessary. Therefore the swimmer is recorded by two underwater and one overwater digital camera at the same time.
The system has become an analysis setup at the Olympiastützpunkt Rhein-Neckar in Heidelberg. Young national competitive swimmers are analysed there regularly. The DigiCoach is used during the technique diagnosis and during lactate swimming step tests.
