  WORK INFORMATION

I am a member of the Natural Language Processing group at EML Research in Heidelberg, Germany. There, I am involved in the research on the application of lexical semantics to NLP tasks, such as e.g. information retrieval, dialogue summarization and anaphora resolution. Also, I am affiliated with School of Information Technology at the International University in Bruchsal, Germany.

I am a member of the
Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL), of ACL's and ISCA's Special Interest Group for Discourse and Dialogue (SIGdial), and of Special Interest Group on Computational Semantics (SIGSEM), and supervise some students.

  BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

In May 2001, I joined the European Media Laboratory in Heidelberg, Germany, as a researcher. From May 2001 until September 2003, I had been working on ontology modeling and knowledge-based methods in the SmartKom project. In November 2003, I successfully defended my Ph.D. thesis at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany. You can find my (not quite up-to-date) CV here
