The Bioinformatics and Computational Biochemistry Group (BCB) at the EML was established in autumn 1998. It is primarily funded by the KTF (Klaus Tschira Foundation).
The main focus of the research of the group is the development of computational methods to model, simulate and analyse biochemical processes, as well as the application of these methods to specific biochemical problems, e.g. calcium signal transduction and the metabolism of leukocytes.

has moved to Heidelberg University as a professor
for „Modelling of Biological Processes“. She will still act as the principal
investigator of all ongoing projects in close cooperation with
EML Research.
Ralph Gauges has been appointed as acting group leader.
